Description
Air Fryer Grilled Cheese Hot Dogs are ooey, gooey, golden, and everything your snack-loving heart didn’t know it needed! Crispy bread, melty cheese, and juicy hot dogs come together in this fast, fun, and indulgent air fryer recipe that’s pure comfort food magic.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 hot dog buns (or sandwich bread)
- 4 all-beef or chicken hot dogs
- 4 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite meltable cheese)
- 2 tbsp softened butter
- Optional: ketchup, mustard, pickles, jalapeños for topping
Instructions
- Lay your hot dog buns (or sandwich bread) on a clean surface. Place a slice of cheese inside the bun, then nestle a hot dog in the center. Close the bun gently around the hot dog, pressing lightly.
- Spread softened butter on the outside of the bun or bread—just like a classic grilled cheese.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the grilled cheese hot dogs in the basket butter side up, cheese side sealed. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway, until the bread is golden and crispy and the cheese is melted.
- Remove carefully (they’ll be HOT and melty!) and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces or toppings.
Notes
Use melty cheese—cheddar, mozzarella, and American work best. Butter generously for that signature golden crust. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer—give each one space. Use a toothpick to help secure bread if needed. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–4 minutes.
