- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and whisk for 1 minute.
- Gradually add milk, whisking constantly until the sauce thickens.
- Add cheddar and mozzarella cheese, stirring until melted.
- Mix the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni.
- Transfer to a baking dish.
- Combine breadcrumbs and olive oil, then sprinkle over the macaroni.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Use fresh cheese for best results.
- Add cooked bacon or vegetables for extra flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
