Cauliflower Crust Margherita Flatbread

Description

Make a delicious Margherita flatbread using a cauliflower crust.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pulse the cauliflower in a food processor until it resembles rice.
  3. Steam the cauliflower rice for 5-7 minutes, or until tender. Drain well and let cool.
  4. In a bowl, combine the cauliflower, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  5. Press the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to form a flatbread shape.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Spread tomato sauce over the crust.
  8. Top with mozzarella slices.
  9. Bake for another 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil and drizzle with olive oil.

Notes

  • You can add other toppings as you like.
  • Make sure to drain the cauliflower well to avoid a soggy crust.
