Description

These cookies combine chocolate and peppermint flavors. They are covered in powdered sugar.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar, for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar.
  3. Mix in the peppermint extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls.
  7. Place the balls on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
  9. Let the cookies cool slightly.
  10. Roll the warm cookies in powdered sugar.
  11. Let cool completely and dust with more powdered sugar before serving.

  • For a stronger peppermint flavor, add a few drops of peppermint oil.
