- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup powdered sugar for rolling
- Red and green food coloring (optional)
- Sprinkles for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add to the butter mixture.
- Divide dough into two parts. Add red food coloring to one half and green to the other (optional).
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then coat in powdered sugar.
- Place on baking sheets, flatten slightly, and add sprinkles if desired.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set.
- Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Dough can be chilled for 30 minutes if too soft.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- For a festive look, use holiday-themed sprinkles.
