- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves in a bowl.
- Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg, molasses, and vanilla.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until combined.
- Scoop dough into 1-inch balls, roll in sugar, and place on baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set. Cool on wire racks.
Notes
- Chill dough for 30 minutes if too soft.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
- Decorate with icing if desired.
