Description

A quick and easy chocolate lava cake made in the microwave.


Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  4. Microwave on high for 1 minute and 15 seconds to 1 minute and 30 seconds, or until the cake is set but still moist in the center. Cooking time may vary depending on your microwave.
  5. Let cool slightly before enjoying.

Notes

  • For an extra gooey center, add a small square of chocolate in the middle of the batter before microwaving.
