Easy Tiramisu Trifle Jars

Description

Individual layered tiramisu trifles in jars, perfect for a no-bake dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, divided
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder, for dusting
  • 12 ladyfingers, broken into pieces

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee, coffee liqueur (if using), 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese, cream cheese, remaining 1 tablespoon of sugar, and remaining 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Quickly dip the ladyfinger pieces into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are coated but not soggy.
  5. Layer the trifle jars: start with a layer of dipped ladyfingers, followed by a layer of the mascarpone cream. Repeat the layers until the jars are full, ending with a cream layer.
  6. Chill the trifles for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  7. Before serving, dust the tops with cocoa powder.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the coffee liqueur and use 2 tablespoons of extra coffee.
  • You can prepare these trifles up to 24 hours in advance.
  • Ensure your mascarpone and cream cheese are at room temperature for a smoother filling.
