Description
Soft sugar cookies with eggnog flavor, topped with a sweet frosting.
Ingredients

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup eggnog
- For the frosting: 2 cups powdered sugar, 1/4 cup eggnog, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla, nutmeg, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the eggnog.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting: Whisk together the powdered sugar, eggnog, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Frost the cooled cookies.
Notes
- You can add a sprinkle of nutmeg on top of the frosting for extra flavor and decoration.
- Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
