A moist and spiced gingerbread cake with a sweet maple glaze, perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a Bundt pan.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add molasses and egg, mix well.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and hot water to the batter.
- Pour batter into the pan and bake for 40-45 minutes.
- Cool cake in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Mix powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk for the glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over cooled cake.
Notes
- Store cake in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- For extra spice, add 1/4 tsp nutmeg.
- Use dark molasses for a richer flavor.
