Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 large egg
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, plus more for the griddle
- Maple syrup, for serving
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Heat a lightly buttered griddle or frying pan over medium heat.
- Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot griddle for each pancake.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Stack the pancakes and serve with maple syrup.
Notes
- You can add chocolate chips to the batter.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of molasses.
