Description

A simple and flavorful dish featuring grilled flank steak, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil, all tossed in a tangy balsamic dressing.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs flank steak
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  3. Season the flank steak with salt and pepper.
  4. Grill the flank steak for 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness.
  5. Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
  6. In a large bowl, combine the sliced steak, halved cherry tomatoes, mozzarella pieces, and chopped basil.
  7. Pour the balsamic dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For an extra layer of flavor, you can marinate the flank steak in half of the balsamic dressing for at least 30 minutes before grilling.
  • If you don’t have a grill, you can pan-sear the flank steak in a hot skillet.
