- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 3/4 cups chicken broth
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk. Cook until thickened.
- Add chicken, carrots, peas, and celery. Stir well.
- Line a pie dish with one crust. Pour filling into the crust.
- Cover with the second crust. Seal edges and cut slits in the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use leftover rotisserie chicken for convenience.
- For extra flavor, add thyme or rosemary.
- Freeze unbaked pie for later use.
