Description

A flavorful soup that tastes like pizza.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup cooked sausage, sliced
  • 1 cup pepperoni, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.
  6. Add sausage and pepperoni. Cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Ladle soup into bowls.
  8. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil.

Notes

  • You can add other pizza toppings like mushrooms or bell peppers.
  • For a vegetarian version, omit the sausage and use vegetable broth.
