Description
These blondies combine sweet and salty flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup pretzels, roughly chopped
- 1 cup caramel candies, unwrapped
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- Flaky sea salt, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chopped pretzels.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- While the blondies are baking, make the caramel sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the caramel candies and heavy cream. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the caramel is melted and smooth.
- Once the blondies are out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
- Let the blondies cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For best results, use good quality caramel candies.
- You can add a handful of chocolate chips to the batter for extra flavor.
- Store the blondies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
