Description

These soft-baked cookies combine maple syrup and brown sugar for a delicious treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still soft.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
