Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine the water, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the boiling water over the batter and stir gently until smooth. The batter will be thin.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
- For an extra chocolatey flavor, use dark chocolate chips.
