Description

A crispy and cheesy twist on the classic tuna melt, these easy-to-make tuna melt patties are perfect for a snack, lunch, or dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or oats for a healthier option)
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1/2 tsp mustard or Sriracha (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the drained tuna, breadcrumbs, shredded cheese, egg, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, parsley, and mustard.
  2. Form the mixture into small patties, pressing them together firmly.
  3. For best results, refrigerate patties for 30 minutes to help them hold their shape.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from heat and serve with your favorite dip, in a sandwich, or alongside a fresh salad.

Notes

For a healthier alternative, bake the patties at 375°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, or cook them in an air fryer at 375°F for 12 minutes.
