Asparagus and Parmesan Tart

Description

A simple and flavorful tart featuring fresh asparagus and savory Parmesan cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Unroll the puff pastry onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a small bowl, toss the asparagus with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Arrange the seasoned asparagus in the center of the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border.
  5. Fold the border of the puff pastry over the ends of the asparagus.
  6. Brush the folded pastry border with the beaten egg.
  7. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the asparagus.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the asparagus is tender.
  9. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can add other herbs like thyme or rosemary for extra flavor.
  • A drizzle of balsamic glaze after baking is a nice addition.
