Grilled Portobello Mushroom Burgers

Description

A simple and flavorful recipe for grilled portobello mushroom burgers.


Ingredients

  • 4 large portobello mushroom caps, stems removed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, your favorite sauce

Instructions

  1. Clean the mushroom caps and remove the stems.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  3. Brush the marinade onto both sides of the mushroom caps. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Grill the mushroom caps for 5-7 minutes per side, or until tender and slightly charred.
  6. While the mushrooms are grilling, lightly toast your burger buns on the grill if desired.
  7. Assemble your burgers with the grilled portobello mushrooms, buns, and your chosen toppings.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add herbs like rosemary or thyme to the marinade.
  • If you don’t have a grill, you can roast the mushrooms in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes.
