Description

Tender and flavorful beef short ribs marinated in a sweet and savory Korean BBQ sauce, grilled to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef short ribs, bone-in
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons mirin (rice wine)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, mirin, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
  2. Place the beef short ribs in a large resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the ribs, ensuring they are fully coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the ribs from the marinade, letting any excess drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.
  5. Grill the short ribs for 4-6 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness and nicely charred.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pear or onion to the marinade.
  • Serve with rice and your favorite Korean side dishes.
